2010 World Water Week in Stockholm: The Water Quality Challenge, September 5 - 11

Preparations are underway for the  2010 World Water Week in Stockholm, which will mark the 20th Anniversary of the event. The Stockholm International Water Institute is currently putting together the programme for the week in consultation with our co-convening organisations. You can find all the results of the 2009 World Water Week including the  overarching conclusions and session summaries under WWW 2009.

What's going on

  • The focus shifts to Water Quality
  • The theme for 2010 will be global water quality challenges. Different aspects of water quality will be taken up during the week, including how to prevent, wisely use and abate water pollution.
  • 20th Anniversary Preparations
  • 2010 will be the 20th Anniversary of the World Water Week and the Stockholm Water Prize. We hope you will be able to celebrate this with us in September.
  • Conclusions from the 2009 World Water Week
  • Use our 2009 event finder to explore the programme and download the presentations, reports and outcomes from the sessions. The overarching conclusions are also now available.
  • World Water Week at World Water Day
  • Celebrate the World Water Day on the 22nd of March! SIWI will be in Nairobi at UN-Water’s celebrations presenting the WWW 2010 that will continue the discussions on water quality.
  • Water Quality Challenges in Latin-America
  • The Water Quality in Latin America will be one of the aspects discussed during the 2010 WWW. The regions actors will bring challenges and success stories. Stay tuned for more details in April.
  • Urbanisation in focus 2011
  • The 2011 World Water Week will focus on the challenges of urbanisation and the increased demand on water for food production, business and services for the growing urban population. Please book your calendars to join us in August 2011.
